Shaping up Before Saying "I Do"

Extra pounds before saying I do can be the difference between a few alterations and a new wedding gown, altogether. While men, can sport tuxedos without a hitch, a tubby stomach, flabby back, and non-sculpted arms can detract from a brides beauty. Obviously, it all depends on the type of wedding gown one chooses. Most women opt for the ornately designed strapless or sleeveless gown. After all, it’s part of the tradition.

But getting in shape before one ties the knot does not require an outrageous workout regimen. In as little as two months time, a program of cardio and strength training can tone arms and strengthen tone the back. The following exercises can be done in the privacy of one’s home and can be incorporated in anyone’s fitness program for toning the upper-body and improving posture.

Use the following exercises to ensure your look your very best on your special day:

Start with a series of weekly, strength-training exercises. Plan sessions every other day for example Monday Wednesday and Saturday.

Select a comfortable dumbbell between 5 and 15 pounds. Make sure the weight is heavy enough to challenge your muscles but light enough that you will not strain.

To sculpt flabby arms, try these strengthening exercises on for toning:
-Kickbacks
-Curls
-Dips

To add definition to the shoulders do 8-12 repetitions of the following exercises
-Band stretch:
-Side lifts:
-Front lifts

Boost up the definition of your chest by including 15-25 push-ups to your regimen, whatever way you like to do them. If you have a Pilates ball (exercise ball) Sit with your back turned to the ball and your hands behind you to lift yourself off of the ball. Because these are quite rigorous, two to five will do the job.
